For Fullerton Families Keeping Korean Language and Culture Alive
Fullerton School District offers a Korean Dual Language Academy at Laguna Road Elementary. It began in 2022 with a single kindergarten class and now keeps a waitlist. For families who keep Korean alive at home and at school, the dojang is a natural extension.
Every class opens with Korean commands and bows, and students learn the five tenets by their Korean names: Courtesy (Ye Ui), Integrity (Yom Chi), Perseverance (In Nae), Self-Control (Geuk Gi), and Indomitable Spirit (Baekjul Boolgool). We speak English and Korean.
